Partners with Performance
Stork IMM's injection moulding machines have very low energy consumption and are highly suitable for processing recycled materials, all with very short cycle times. This enables Stork 's customers to grow rapidly, becoming market leaders in their region, due to their super-fast and reliable production. In addition to customers in Egypt, Algeria, Cameroon, and French Guinea, Stork IMM works closely with Plastikpack Maroc.
Plastikpack Maroc, a key customer of Stork IMM, is a Moroccan manufacturer of thin wall packaging in Morocco. Plastikpack recently received a substantial loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The financing has allowed them to expand the current facilities, including the purchase of equipment for the production of pharmaceutical packaging, the establishment of a new facility for the production of plastic pallets and crates made from recycled polypropylene (PP) and the construction of a new building, in accordance with the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) standards. With the EBRD-supported investment plan, Plastikpack Maroc is tapping into high-quality market opportunities in Morocco by expanding its product portfolio with sustainable recyclable plastic packaging and packaging for pharmaceutical products. Plastikpack is implementing European standards for the project in Morocco. The new production building is expected to achieve Green Buildings certification. Additionally, the investment plan includes a new facility for the production of pallets and crates from recycled PP to promote the circular economy.
Scaling Success with Speed and Sustainability: Plastikpack's Journey with Stork IMM
Plastikpack Maroc is part of Plastikpack (Wandel Group). Plastikpack has several production facilities in Morocco. The company has various Stork IMM injection moulding machines. Plastikpack purchased its first used Stork IMM injection moudling machines in 2015. At that time, Plastikpack was already a relevant player in the injection moulding world, but with the acquisition of Stork IMM's machines, their production underwent tremendous growth. Plastikpack has secured major contracts, making significant strides compared to the competition.
In 2023, Plastikpack purchased its first new Stork IMM injection moulding machines. Production on these machines started in 2024. With these new crate machines (660 - 900 Tons) supplemented with 2K capabilities, Plastikpack is much faster and more reliable than its competitors and has secured major contracts. Plastikpack is also actively expanding its equipment base and replacing used machines with new ones. The company's growth is substantial, and with the support of EBRD financing, it can invest further in this growth. Sustainability is a key topic on the agenda.
Products such as milk crates, fish crates, berry crates, and Coca-Cola crates are produced. Plastikpack is an extremely fast, innovative, and growing company, striving to be a market leader in the Moroccan market and also serve the European market.
Plastikpack has its own maintenance team capable of performing preventive maintenance and has built up its own spare parts inventory. It is crucial that production experiences no downtime.
The Stork IMM injection moulding machines (200-1100 Tons) are highly suitable for the production of packaging, including crates. With fast cycle times, low energy consumption, and the ability to process recycled material, Plastikpack is very successful in their markets. The total cost of ownership is highly competitive, resulting in minimal operational costs per unit produced. Characteristics of high-class machine performance include high output, high speed, high-quality products, minimal material consumption, low energy consumption, and sustainability. Due to high injection and closing speeds, the wall thickness is minimal, resulting in minimal material usage, short cooling times, and therefore fast cycle times. Moreover, the energy consumption of the machines is low.
Stork IMM distinguishes itself by providing extensive support for the installed base, both remote and local, and is professional, creative and flexible in its solutions. The Stork IMM team (Dutch, English, French, German, Polish, Arabic) consists of a core team that is very engaged with its clients, ensuring short communication lines.
