Overhaul & Maintenance Technician

Give used injection moulding machines a second life.

Are you an experienced technician who enjoys working on complex machinery? Do you enjoy identifying technical issues, overhauling machines and restoring them to top condition? Then we are looking for you.

As an Overhaul & Maintenance Technician, you will work on used injection moulding machines that come to Stork IMM for maintenance, overhauls or technical upgrades. You will ensure that these machines are made reliable, safe and production-ready again, so they can be put back into operation at customer sites in the Netherlands and abroad.

Your role includes testing and adjusting machines, troubleshooting technical issues and supporting customer acceptance procedures.

What will you be doing?

No two machines are the same. Every overhaul presents new technical challenges. Together with your colleagues, you assess the condition of each machine and determine what work is required to restore it to optimal condition.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting and assessing used injection moulding machines.
  • Carrying out overhaul, maintenance and repair work.
  • Disassembling, replacing and installing components.
  • Carrying out technical modifications and improvements.
  • Testing, adjusting and optimising machines.
  • Identifying and resolving malfunctions and technical issues.
  • Carrying out FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests).
  • Supporting customers during machine acceptance procedures.
  • Independently commissioning machines at customer sites.
  • Carrying out service work at customer sites in the Netherlands and abroad.
  • Documenting completed work and technical findings.

What do you bring?

You are an independent, hands-on technician who enjoys taking responsibility. You like solving technical challenges and work accurately on machines that need to perform reliably for many years to come.

In addition, you have:

  • A completed technical qualification in Electrical Engineering (Dutch MBO level 4 or equivalent), possibly supplemented with Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in overhauls, maintenance, machine building or service.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and electrical engineering.
  • Experience in testing and adjusting machines.
  • A solution-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently.
  • Good command of Dutch and English.
  • Knowledge of German is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis to commission machines at customer sites.

What do we offer?

At Stork IMM, you will have the opportunity to work on high-quality machines in an organisation where technology is at the heart of everything we do.

We offer:

  • A varied role with a high degree of independence.
  • The opportunity to work on unique overhaul and maintenance projects.
  • A combination of work at our Hengelo facility and at customer sites.
  • Plenty of opportunities for professional and technical development.
  • An informal organisation with short lines of communication.
  • Good employment conditions and a competitive salary.

Why Stork IMM?

What Our Team Says

Meet the people behind our performance

Our employees share their experiences and insights about being part of Stork IMM.

"I started at Stork IMM in the field service department as a Service Technician. Over the years, I transitioned to the internal service team, and my role evolved from Service Technician to Troubleshooter. In this position, I’m responsible for handling all customer inquiries related to machine malfunctions. Lately, I’ve also been involved in some sales activities. Sales has always appealed to me, and Stork IMM is giving me the opportunity to explore this further.

Working at Stork IMM is truly amazing. You can start out as a technician and grow into roles like Area Sales Manager. Anything is possible as long as you’re ambitious, proactive, and show what you’re capable of. On top of that, the product is truly impressive. Both Stork IMM and its machines are constantly evolving. It never stands still, and that’s exactly why I still enjoy working here after all these years."

- Huseyin Koltuk, International Service & Sales

"When a colleague from Stork IMM reached out to me via LinkedIn, I decided to go for an interview – and it turned out to be a perfect match. I was immediately drawn to the open and friendly atmosphere, and that still holds true today. There’s a culture of being direct and honest with each other, working hard, but always making room for a good laugh.

What makes my job so enjoyable and challenging is the dynamic nature of it. Every day is different because of the interaction with both technicians and customers. I’m committed to helping our technicians maintain a healthy work-life balance. Sometimes they have to travel to far-off places like Africa for assignments and are away from home for two or three weeks. We always plan these trips in consultation, so that everyone feels comfortable with the arrangements. It gives me great satisfaction to organize this properly for them."

- Janine, Planner Serviceteam

"I started at Stork IMM as a Goods Management employee, mainly focused on quality control. With a desire to keep growing, I enrolled in a Transport and Logistics Specialist course through a POP discussion, which was a valuable step for both me and the company. I now act asa stand-in for the supervisor during his absence and hope to grow further in this role.

I enjoy variety and challenges and appreciate the freedom to work independently. What makes Stork IMM special is its family-oriented atmosphere. My son even got a chance to work here during his gap year, which helped launch his career. The company’s flexibility and local Twente culture create a great balance between work and life and a friendly work environment."
